Warner Bros. has obtained rights to film the version of the upcoming book, Sasha's story. The life and death of a Russian Spy. New York Times Lodon Bureau Chie Alan Cowell has been working on this book in question. The book is based on Alexander Livitenko, a former KGB agent, who died mysteriously in London last november, supposedly by radiation poisoning. Cowell has written several articles on Livitenko's death and he continues to investigate into his death. Just before his death, Livitenko blamed Russian President Vladimir Putin, himself a former KGB chief for the murder. Investigators have found traces of Polonium 210 at several sites in the UK where Livitenko must have been exposed to this poisonous element.
As Daily Variety reports Warner Bros. and Infinitum Nihil have reserved the rights to film the not as yet published book about the life and death of the spy and Johny Depp is likely to play the lead role. Infinitum Nihil is Depp's production company. The book is allegedly going to be out in the US and the UK by the end of 2007. With two big brands coming together, and Depp's unparalled acting skills, the product will surely be able to raise heads in Hollywood and the world over. The movie on the whole will impact history.http://www.filmstew.com/showArticle.aspx?ContentID=15341
